The IQ/MQ Filter
Toward a User-Owned Adaptive Layer Between Platform and Timeline
From the essay
The modern feed is not a neutral list. It is a hidden intervention into attention, interpretation, and, over time, judgment. Once that is recognized, the question is no longer whether filtering exists. The question is who owns it, how it learns, and what kind of informational life it helps create. The IQ/MQ Filter is proposed as a user-owned adaptive layer between platform and timeline. It learns, but slowly. It preserves diversity and serious disagreement. It distinguishes intensity from distortion. The filter proposed here is not a final algorithm and not yet a finished product specification. It is a position paper and a systems proposal.
