ClaviGenix Service
A Preconception Genetic Compatibility Screening Service
From the essay
ClaviGenix is a voluntary, consent-based preconception and premarital genetic compatibility screening service. Its purpose is to identify high-risk reproductive genetic pairings before pregnancy, before late prenatal diagnosis, and before the birth of an affected child. ClaviGenix is an evidence-based implementation service. Its scientific and clinical components are already established in the literature. The purpose of ClaviGenix is to organize them into a clear, usable, privacy-aware, three-stage service that can be understood by individuals, couples, physicians, fertility programs, and community leaders. The scientific base begins with established carrier-screening principles: an apparently healthy person may carry one or more pathogenic recessive variants; if both partners carry clinically relevant pathogenic variants in the same gene, each pregnancy may carry a risk of an affected child.
