IQ Curve Live and How AI erodes human reasoning
SMARTER MACHINES, BUT WHAT IS HAPPENING TO US?
From the essay
I began with the IQ curve and a larger question: what is happening to the people inside it? Are we becoming more capable, or are gains in some abilities concealing losses in others? This three-part essay follows human intelligence from its uneven historical development into AI-assisted thinking and then into the hand of government. From education to my proposal for an AI jury, I ask who benefits, who falls behind, and who decides what we may build and delegate. More capable machines do not automatically mean more capable people. The central question is whether we are strengthening our ability to understand and judge, or producing increasingly impressive results that we are less equipped to question.
