Study: The Potential Perils of Overeducation
From the essay
By “overeducation,” I mean a condition where individuals, due to their advanced education or expertise, become so confident in their knowledge that they believe they are infallible. These individuals may be highly educated but lack the wisdom or practical judgment needed to make sound decisions. I will refer to this “overeducated and underbrained duality” as the “O&U Duality Law.” For the purpose of this study, I will focus on the Democratic Party in the United States as the first case of analysis. In Phase 2, the Republican Party will be a subject of this study.
