Voluntary body movements by different animals or birds have characteristic frequency ranges. These frequencies are determined by biomechanics, neuromuscular control, and the physical properties of the body parts. Human arm or leg movements during normal walking or running occur at 1–3 Hz. Hand oscillations during fine motor tasks typically fall around 3–10 Hz, depending on the task’s precision requirements. Subtle balance corrections are linked to slow, controlled muscular feedback mechanisms.
