Breathing Dynamics and Optimization in Exercise: Application to IsoTone Training
From the essay
A key observation is that breathing is not symmetric: inhalation tends to be shorter and more forceful, while exhalation is longer and more controlled. This natural asymmetry becomes more visible during exercise and matches the rhythm of IsoTone training, where the squeeze phase aligns with a sharp inhale and the expand phase aligns with a slower, prolonged exhale.
