Reframing the Science Budget Cuts: A Legitimate Reassessment, Not a War on Knowledge
Author: Lev Neymotin, PhD, N5Digital, Inc.
From the essay
A recent article in The Wall Street Journal, “America’s Brain Drain Could Become the World’s Brain Gain” paints a dire picture of U.S. science and technology funding cuts as a self-inflicted brain drain. While the consequences of such cuts must be taken seriously, this paper presents a structured counterpoint: that skepticism toward federal science funding can be a rational, principled response to longstanding concerns about institutional bias, inefficiency, and disconnect from public values.
