REGULAR VS. ORGANIC FOODS
Many are curious about the health-related trade-offs between the regular and organic foods.
From the essay
Many are curious about the health-related trade-offs between regular and organic foods. Obviously, organic food is more expensive. The assumption is that here we deal with two possible negative consequences: for regular foods, long-term consequences due to fertilizers and anti-pesticides; for organic foods, immediate negative consequences of microbial origin. Organic foods are grown without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, relying instead on natural alternatives like compost, biological pest control, and crop rotation.
