From the essay
This proposal presents a novel medical delivery system: the Piezo-Generated Aerosol Wand (PAW), designed for precise, contact-free application of liquid medications to sensitive tissue surfaces. A compact, hand-held device, PAW overcomes limitations of traditional drops and sprays by generating a gentle, focused micro-aerosol cloud using piezoelectric actuation. To further enhance precision, we propose a modular Composite Spherical Piezo-Lens (CSPL) that geometrically converges aerosolized droplets at a tunable focal point, enabling dose control from pinpoint targeting to uniform surface coating.
